Longing

This short film won the 24 Hour Film Contest at the Local Focus Film Festival, which was sponsored by the Media Producers Group of Ontario. The film contest required that teams complete a short film in one day based on surprise production criteria that teams would receive the morning of the contest. Melissa Sky led a talented team from the Factory Media Arts Centre to victory, despite the fact that they only had 19 hours to finish the film, as their team leader had to fly out to BC that morning for a stint with OUTtv. Their team’s production criteria mandated that they include a skull and crossbones, the sound of a car honking, a garden setting and the theme of redemption. The film is currently being re-edited, without the challenge of time constraints, for wider distribution; however, the original contest submission is viewable here.
